Product Overview

Ace Instruments builds its flameproof synchronized clocks in a CIMFR, Dhanbad certified Aluminium LM6 enclosure, built to withstand internal gas ignition without transmitting it to the surrounding hazardous atmosphere. Each clock family offers dual communication options, wired RS485 Modbus for permanent installations and wireless RF for areas where new cabling is impractical, along with a choice of master time source: an Ethernet Master Clock synced to server time or a GPS Master Clock synced directly to the GPS satellite network. How Wired RS485 Synchronization Works

Up to 120 slave clocks connect to a single master clock over a simple two core multidrop cable.

The master clock holds the reference time and pushes it out to every slave on the line, and can itself pull time from a GPS Master Clock, which takes time directly from the GPS satellite network for facilities that need an independent, non network time reference.

How Wireless RF Synchronization Works

Up to 108 slave clocks connect to a single master over 865 MHz RF, with no communication cabling required.

The wireless configuration removes cabling entirely. The master pushes an updated time signal to every slave over the free to air 865 MHz radio frequency. As with the wired system, the RF master clock can be either an Ethernet Master Clock synced to server time, or a GPS Master Clock synced to satellite time.

RF clocks form a mesh network rather than a simple point to point link. The master talks to its nearest slave, that slave relays to the next slave, and so on, and this mesh structure extends the practical communication range.
